  • Practically focused support model in three stages

  • New HTML module “Dimensioning of Storage Tanks” in planSOFT

  • Video tutorials explain the use of each module

Vaillant continues to expand its support for the planning of ventilation systems. From now on, skilled tradesmen have the benefit of six further technical consultants who are specially trained in ventilation engineering. Vaillant thus provides support for all planning, ranging from the initial consultation to the detailed design and the creation of a quote. At the same time, the design application planSOFT is to be expanded to include the new decentralised recoVAIR units and details of noise emissions. This will allow the simple and intuitive planning of both central and decentralised ventilation systems. At the same time, the tool is available on the web, which further increases flexibility. “Ventilation becomes a central element for sanitation, heating and air-conditioning professionals. Under Germany’s Energy Saving Ordinance, ventilation is indispensable for new buildings. Yet we can also see a vigorously growing market in the modernisation of existing buildings,” says Christian Sieg, Head of Product and Service Management at Vaillant Germany.

Ventilation as a central element

To help skilled tradesmen when they first meet a potential customer, Vaillant can, if requested, put together a model system based on general property details and deliver an initial price tag. If the customer is interested in the system, planSOFT can provide information whether a ventilation system is actually necessary. Next, it creates a customised proposal, specifying a ventilation system under the German standard DIN 1946-6. Running in parallel with the final order placement, Vaillant also proposes a duct layout to suit the ventilation system.

Simple combination of products

Use of the various modules is explained in the manuals and videos that are provided with each module. One new feature is the dimensioning of storage tanks according to the required buffer volume and the amount of hot water that is needed. It is also possible to calculate the dimensions of drinking water stations for multi-function storage tanks. A further function is the controller design module. After selecting a heating system either with or without hot-water production, the module displays a three-dimensional rendering of the terminal assignment. Next, an automatic link is created to the hydraulics database planNET where a suitable hydraulic diagram can be selected. The revised project record sheets then serve as a checklist for the new Vaillant system. This list ensures that the subsequent combination of products is exactly right for the relevant property. Project record sheets are available online and in PDF format.
