Vaillant Group opens day care nursery

The heating technology specialist Vaillant has joined forces with the city authorities and opened a day care facility at its headquarters in Remscheid. Children of employees and residents of Remscheid can attend the facilities, which are right next to the company headquarters, for the whole day starting this autumn. This is part of the family-owned company’s work-life balance initiative.

The day care nursery “Hoppelhasen” will offer up to 30 places for newborns and children up to the ages of six, divided into two mixed-age groups. The facilities are on the premises of a former nursery on Oswald-Greb Straße, which has been rented by the evangelical parish “Johannes-Kirchengemeinde”. Together with the city of Remscheid and the operator “Kita-Konzept”, Vaillant will provide comprehensive educational child care. The service will primarily be geared toward the needs of the parents, such as opening times from 7am till 5pm, even in holiday periods, healthy meals and fresh fruit. Extensive renovations are currently in progress to ensure that the nursery conforms to the latest standards in day care.

“The day care unit aims to enable our employees to better combine work and family life,” commented Dr Carsten Voigtländer, CEO of the Vaillant Group, at the groundbreaking ceremony as work commenced on the renovations. “As a family-owned company, we have a great interest in making sure our colleagues can return to work with as few problems as possible after the birth of their children.”

The project is an initiative of the Group-wide sustainability programme S.E.E.D.S. The field of focus “Employees” incorporates measures that are a direct benefit for our employees and promote the company’s attractiveness as an employer.
