  • Infrared heating panels with 85 per cent radiation (ErP-ready)

  • Electric storage heaters with intelligent electronic charge and discharge controller (ErP-ready)

  • Electric convectors with features in accordance with Lot 20 of the ErP Directive

Vaillant has significantly expanded the range in its electrical product segment, unveiling a number of new electric room heating systems at SHK Essen 2018. The new heating units include infrared heaters, electric storage heaters and electric convectors. Room-by-room heating is a quick and environmentally friendly approach to upgrading an existing buildings. “The energy transition has made heating with electricity more and more important,” says Oliver Gremm, head of product marketing at Vaillant Germany. “That is why we have expanded our range of electric individual room heaters.”

With a panel thickness of only 17 mm, the white infrared heating panels are especially flat, which means they can be installed either on the wall or on the ceiling. These units are controlled precisely and efficiently by wireless room thermostats powered by batteries and various wireless receiver modules. The infrared heater is particularly suitable for replacing old-fashioned night storage heaters. Compared to conventional products on the market, infrared radiant heat is particularly high at 85 per cent. Furthermore, the technology is virtually maintenance-free. There is a five-year warranty for the eloMENT panels in all five model sizes, from 300 to 1,000 watts of heating output.

In accordance with ErP Directive requirements, Vaillant offers its VSU EL and VSF EL electric storage heater series with a new, intelligent electronic charge and discharge controller. The charge controller detects the residual heat in the storage tank and prevents energy waste. The discharge controller supplies heat at the desired time. The integrated timer control features a weekly programme, while automatic shutdown of heating mode when the window is open saves energy costs. The controls are easy to access from the front, fitted directly onto the appliance. It is a product range that is suitable for modernising existing heat storage systems in the housing stock.

The new VER electric convector series also meets ErP Directive requirements in Lot 20 and is equipped with an intelligent, electronic room temperature controller. Thanks to the adaptive start function of this controller, a preset target temperature can be reached at the desired time. Both the integrated timer control and shutdown of the electric convector when the window is open save energy, too. VER electric convectors are especially suitable modernising the heating system in smaller rooms.
