New aroTHERM plus heat pump: More efficient, quieter, and flexible installation options

Vaillant will be launching sales of its fully redesigned aroTHERM plus air/water heat pump in Germany and Austria in September 2025. The new generation is particularly efficient, very quiet, and can be installed almost anywhere close to the house. Thanks to the natural refrigerant R290, the heat pump is suitable for both new buildings and the modernisation of existing properties. Vaillant offers a free 5-year warranty for the new aroTHERM plus, as well as digital services for permanently low operating costs.

The new aroTHERM plus will be available from September 2025 in output ranges from 3 to 12 kW, suitable for use in single-family homes and smaller apartment buildings.

High efficiency reduces heating costs and increases comfort

The aroTHERM plus is one of the best-selling heat pumps in Germany. The completely redesigned new generation is even more efficient than its predecessor. This ensures low operating costs for property owners – even at high flow temperatures on particularly cold days. The flow temperatures are made possible by the use of the natural, particularly environmentally friendly refrigerant R290. This refrigerant contains no harmful chemicals and is especially environmentally friendly due to its low global warming potential. Like its predecessor model, the new aroTHERM plus heat pump can provide heating and hot water comfort not only in new buildings, but also in older, less insulated existing buildings. It is suitable for use with radiators as well as underfloor heating systems. In summer, buildings can also be cooled with the aroTHERM plus.

Flexible placement, quiet operation, modern design

Due to an innovative safety concept, the outdoor unit of the heat pump can be installed close within minimal distances to doors, basement windows, or light wells, with virtually no restrictions around the house. This makes efficient heat pump technology available even for buildings with very limited installation spaces and on small properties.

The further reduced noise level of the aroTHERM plus is roughly equivalent to that of a refrigerator. The noise level is even lower in night mode, which is equivalent to a quiet whisper or breathing sounds. This makes the heat pump suitable for densely developed residential areas and terraced houses. With a new design, the aroTHERM plus comes in a stylish black-gray colour. It blends seamlessly into any environment and combines functionality with a modern aesthetic.

Comprehensive services for low operating costs

In addition to the 5-year warranty, Vaillant is initially offering digital services for the aroTHERM plus heat pump in Germany, which can significantly reduce operating costs. OptimierungPLUS continuously checks and analyses the current operating parameters of a heating system. If necessary, the heat pump settings are automatically adjusted and tailored to the property and its users. As a result, energy consumption and costs can be reduced by up to 15 percent. The smart, cloud-based EnergiePLUS energy management system ensures that the heat pump proactively uses self-generated photovoltaic electricity. Alternatively, EnergiePLUS can be combined with a dynamic electricity tariff to identify the lowest electricity prices on the market and shift the operation of the heat pump to the most cost-efficient time slots. This means that property owners benefit from lower energy costs while maintaining a high level of comfort. The Vaillant aroTHERM plus heat pump can be conveniently operated via a touch display and controlled remotely using the myVAILLANT app.

Vaillant is donating the first aroTHERM plus heat pump it has produced to the German organisation SOS Children's Villages in Essen.
