Our long-standing partnership with SOS Children’s Villages worldwide is very close to our hearts. We are delighted to support the SOS Children’s Village in Essen with modern heating technology as part of this collaboration—because every child needs a warm home.
The new aroTHERM plus heat pump is highly efficient, quiet, and offers flexible installation options. At the SOS Children’s Village in Essen, the air / water heat pump will supply a multi-family house with heating and hot water. Currently, 29 children and young people aged between eight and 21 live together in residential groups. Mr. Stauber is grateful for the support: "The new heat pump replaces outdated night storage heaters. We’re glad to offer the children and young adults a modern and comfortable home with this advanced heating solution."
Founded in 2016 in the northern part of Essen, the SOS Children’s Village provides a safe and nurturing home for 41 children and young people who can no longer live with their families. In a trusting environment, they are supported in their development and prepared for independent living.
With activities such as cooking and creative workshops at the open meeting place “CaféPott” the village has become a popular social contact point for people of all ages in the neighborhood. Around 90 employees and ten volunteers provide a wide range of support offerings for children, young adults, and families. Open child and youth work is available for various age groups. The parent and family counselling provides support to expectant mothers, parents and families in navigating family-related challenges. Since 2020, a daycare center has offered space for 110 children from the age of four months.
The Vaillant Group and SOS Children’s Villages worldwide have shared an international partnership since 2013. As part of this collaboration, the family-owned company regularly supports SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. with modern heating technology and social projects in Germany. SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is one of the largest support associations in the global umbrella organization SOS Children's Villages International.
