Vaillant has been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award 2026 for its air-to-water heat pump aroTHERM perform and the user interface of the new electronics platform iQconnect.
The iF Design Award recognises innovative, functional and aesthetically compelling products and concepts and is one of the most important design competitions worldwide. A jury of international experts from a wide range of design disciplines evaluates each of the more than 10,000 entries according to the criteria of idea, form, function, differentiation and sustainability.
The clean, minimalist design with an anthracite-coloured, finely textured surface blends seamlessly into a wide variety of architectural styles. The iconic Rain Drain design protects the unit from dirt and marks the beginning of a new Vaillant heat pump design language. The accompanying surrounding base completes the overall appearance. The high-performance heat pump was developed for use in larger detached and multi-family houses. Furthermore, the aroTHERM perform is one of the first Vaillant heat pumps to utilise the new iQconnect electronics platform.
We translate complex heating technology into genuine user experiences and develop solutions that point the way to the future with confidence, clarity and precision.

The iQconnect’s user interface, featuring integrated control technology and a touchscreen display, allows for intuitive operation of the heating systems. For specialist installers, iQconnect simplifies and speeds up installation, as the effort required for wiring and commissioning is significantly reduced. At the heart of the user interface is the so-called Halo graphic: it visualises the thermal processes and brings them to life interactively. The intelligently networked heating system impresses with a user experience that meets the highest standards of comfort and clarity.
The aroTHERM perform received awards in the Product Design and Building Services categories. The iQconnect user interface received awards in the User Interface (UI) and Product Interfaces categories.
