On November 6, 2023, EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson visited the new Vaillant Group heat pump plant in Senica, Slovakia. The Vaillant Group has been producing environmentally friendly heat pumps in Senica since autumn 2023. With her visit to the new heat pump factory the EU Commissioner underlined the importance of the heating transition for Europe. The European Community envisages 10 million heat pumps being installed in Europe by the end of 2027.

Simson noted: "Heat pumps are one of the key technologies in the building sector to achieve climate neutrality by the middle of the century. For this to succeed, a massive expansion of sustainable heating systems, such as heat pumps, is required. The Commission is currently working on an EU Heat Pump Action Plan, which we are planning to present still this year. It is promising to see that the industry is already willing to contribute their part, as demonstrated by Senica factory."

Klaus König explained: "The European Union targets 10 million additional heat pumps to be installed in Europe by the end of 2027. As one of the European market leaders, we will contribute to achieving this goal. We have already expanded our production capacities in the UK, France and Germany. With the new plant in Senica, we are in a position to meet a strong increase in demand in the future.”

Radovan Prístavok, Director of Production Plants in Slovakia, said: "The expansion of the Vaillant Group's production capacity for heat pumps is part of the strategic transformation of our European production and supply network, which is aimed at strengthening our position as a leading manufacturer of heat pumps".

The Vaillant Group is one of the leading manufacturers of heat pumps in Europe. The plant in Senica complements Vaillant Group's international production network, which also manufactures heat pumps at the sites in Remscheid (Germany), Nantes (France) and Belper (UK).
