The new aroTHERM pro
The new aroTHERM pro from Vaillant is among the most compact air-to-water heat pumps across all output sizes (5 kW, 7 kW and 11 kW). It is therefore particularly suitable for single and multi family homes where outdoor space is limited.
Thanks to Vaillant’s industry unique safety concept, the Flexible Space Function (FSF), required protective zones can be reduced to a minimum. This enables a higher degree of flexibility for outdoor installation, depending on the building situation.
The new aroTHERM pro is characterised by:
Compact design: With a unit height of approx. 0.75 m (5 kW and 7 kW) to 1.10 m (11 kW), the aroTHERM pro remains particularly compact across all output sizes.
Flexible outdoor installation: Minimal protective zone allows maximal freedom of positioning.
Versatile application: Thanks to high flow temperatures, suitable for modernisation projects with existing radiators as well as for new builds.
High efficiency: Energy efficiency class up to A+++ (A+++ to D, ErP), supporting efficient use of energy in heating operation.
Delivery of the aroTHERM pro in the 5 kW and 7 kW output sizes will begin in April 2026. The 11 kW version will follow from June 2026.
With the Flexible Space Function (FSF), Vaillant expands the possibilities for outdoor installation of heat pumps using the refrigerant R290. The safety concept developed by Vaillant significantly reduces standard protective zones compared with conventional heat pumps. This makes an installation possible even in spaces with structural limitations – for example in close proximity to windows, doors or cellar openings.
Thanks to the innovative safety concept, the outdoor unit of the heat pump can be positioned at significantly reduced distances from the building. This allows efficient heat pump technology to be used even on small plots with very limited installation space. This is made possible by the industry unique Flexible Space Function (FSF), a safety concept developed by Vaillant.
Once activated by a qualified installer, it significantly reduces standard protective distances, allowing installation in a much wider range of building situations than previously possible.
Thanks to its compact design with a single fan, the new Vaillant heat pump requires very little space and can therefore be installed even where conditions are particularly restricted. With an overall height of approx. 1.10 m, it can – depending on the building situation – typically also be installed beneath a window.
With flow temperatures of up to 70 °C, the aroTHERM pro is designed for both modernisation projects using existing radiators and new builds with surface heating systems.
This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications – from single family homes to hybrid systems requiring elevated temperature levels.
During warmer summer periods, the aroTHERM pro can also contribute to cooling indoor spaces.
When used with surface heating systems such as underfloor heating, temperature controlled comfort cooling is possible. For increased cooling performance, the system can optionally be extended with fan coil units.
This enables the aroTHERM pro to contribute to a comfortable indoor climate throughout the year.
This makes the aroTHERM pro a flexible solution for both heating and cooling, supporting comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the year.
Initially in Germany, Vaillant offers digital services for the aroTHERM pro and aroTHERM plus heat pumps that can help reduce operating costs.
OptimierungPLUS continuously monitors and analyses current operating parameters. Where necessary, heat pump settings are automatically adjusted to suit the building and its occupants, potentially reducing energy consumption and costs by up to 15 per cent, depending on building characteristics, usage behaviour and system configuration.
EnergiePLUS supports the predictive use of self generated photovoltaic electricity, helping to further optimise energy consumption and operating costs. Alternatively, when combined with dynamic electricity tariffs, EnergiePLUS can identify lower market prices and shift heat pump operation to more cost effective time windows.
In combination with photovoltaic systems, this enables greater energy savings and more efficient energy use of self generated electricity.
The aroTHERM pro can be conveniently operated. Integrated connectivity enables easy live monitoring and remote service, supported by digital services via the myVAILLANT app.
With the new aroTHERM pro, Vaillant brings efficient heat pump technology even to locations where space is limited – thanks to its compact design and a flexible outdoor installation.
