The World Climate Conference stops off at the Vaillant Group. Government officials, journalists and non-governmental organisations from three continents stopped by the company headquarters in Remscheid. An excursion programme put together for conference attendees by EnergyAgency.NRW provided an insight into various climate protection solutions, presented in a total of 36 projects across North Rhine-Westphalia.
Dr Jens Wichtermann, Director Corporate Communications, Sustainability & Politics of the Vaillant Group, gave a speech at the World Climate Conference in Bonn about the contribution of the company to achieving the climate goals. In his presentation, he explained both the need for efficient and sustainable heating technology for climate protection and the holistic approach of the company. The Vaillant Group sets standards in corporate responsibility with its new vision "Taking care of a better climate" and the multiple award-winning sustainability program S.E.E.D.S..
Dr Jens Wichtermann, Director Corporate Communications, Sustainability & Politics at the Vaillant Group (right) – current holder of the title “Germany’s most sustainable large company” –, congratulates UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on receiving the 2016 Honorary German Sustainability Award. In his acceptance speech, Ban Ki-moon emphasised the great importance of the 2050 climate targets, highlighting the need for a close-knit collaboration between politics, business and civil society.
At the Teo-Otto-Theater in Remscheid, the Vaillant Children’s Christmas Party took place last Saturday. There, children and grandchildren of Vaillant staff did not only meet Santa Claus and the Vaillant Bunny but as well got to know many countries in a children’s performance of Jules Verne‘s „Around the world in 80 days“. The play was performed by Westdeutschen Tourneetheater (WTT). Moreover, Santa Claus offered a small Christmas gift to each of the more than 400 attending children.
Parents and grandparents enjoyed the afternoon with talks, savouring coffee and Christmas stollen.
Every year, the Vaillant Children’s Christmas Party is organised by volunteering colleagues from the HR division and the Works Council. The Party has been held for almost 20 years now.
