With success come responsibilities

After many years of hard work on the S.E.E.D.S. sustainability programme, Vaillant has finally done it: the company was named Germany’s most sustainable large company. Vaillant was absolutely delighted – and motivated to keep making the family-run company even greener. What progress has been made so far?

Now more than ever

The team battled away. Talked things through. Was persuasive. And won. The culmination of the first five years of S.E.E.D.S., the Vaillant Group’s strategic sustainability programme, was when Vaillant CEO Dr Carsten Voigtländer was presented with the coveted trophy. Vaillant is now officially Germany’s most sustainable large company for 2015. Sustainability is not something that just happens by itself, and the Vaillant Group sustainability team are always well aware of this. But they haven’t let it put them off. On the contrary: it has always been the difficulties that really awakened their fighting spirit. “Our success has proven that we have the right approach,” says Dr Jens Wichtermann. As Group Director of Sustainability Management, he has helped to make sustainability a cross-cutting issue for the Vaillant Group. “An award like this comes with responsibilities.” And that is why the hard work is far from over. “Now, more than ever, we want to show just how much we deserve it.”

Five years of consistency and persuasive power

Places worth protecting: Antartica

Literally in the middle of nowhere, Friedhelm Weidemann runs a marathon. Vaillant accompanied him as part of the “Places worth protecting” initiative.

“Those who come to the Vaillant Group stay here.”

Anniversaries are normal in our family-owned company: many people have already been working here for 25 or even 40 years. Even Vaillant Group Managing Director Sales, Marketing and Service Dr Andree Groos has been part of the team for over ten years.

International study: Germany is only average in green ranking

Germans are champions when it comes to avoiding plastic bags, saving water and separating rubbish. This was revealed by an international study conducted by Vaillant, in cooperation with the market research institute TNS Infra-test. A total of 13,500 people from 13 countries were asked about their eco-friendly behaviour for the study.
